Just a Little Hawaiian Appetizer

I have a gazillion pictures and some really great stories from this past weekend in Hawaii but it’s taking me a little time to get them all up/written.  So to hold you over in the meantime (and you’ve probably seen this already but whatever, Clif kept us up til 1am working on it and both Jay & I happen to think that this is pretty bad ass), here’s the trailer for all the coverage that was done by Team nuDia from the weekend.

Also, you can check out exclusive pictures taken by Cesar the Awesome from the Red Carpet by going here: http://yublog.org/2010/02/02/exclusive-red-carpet-photos-from-sunset-on-the-beach-cesar-altamirano/

Chuck knows a lot of Kung Fu.

Posted by Colleen on Jan 11, 2010 in Podcasting Adventures, Randy "Princess Cupcake Assface" Green, TV

I still have to finish up my post about Jay & my’s New Years Eve adventure but I’ve been blah all day when it comes to doing anything.  Mainly because I spent like 3 hours yesterday cleaning out my closet and reorganizing things, so today I felt lazy.  I’ll get to it within the next 3 days, I promise.  It’s a fun story with some special guest stars so stay tuned.

Anyway, Chuck started again today on NBC and will air Monday nights at 8pm EST, so if you’re looking for a great TV show to get into, then check out Chuck.  It’s a great show.  The first few episodes of the first season are somewhat slow but if you stick around, you will not regret it.

Thus said, Jay & I resumed podcasting together tonight with ChuckCast, the podcast we started last year as a joke when Ben & Ralph started theirs.  If you’d like to subscribe to ChuckCast, here’s the link to the iTunes store: http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=304193119.

Please keep in mind that it’s not a Jay & Jack podcast, so if you’re expecting to hear them, you will be disappointed.  I know that I do not come close to being as great as Jack is but hopefully, Jay & I can keep you entertained.  We like getting to do something together that has zero pressure or money involved!  Well, that being said, I’m off to bed because I have a feeling it’s going to be a looooooong week…

Oohhh and Happy Birthday to Randy Princess Cupcake Assface Green, even though it’s after midnight so technically his birthday is over.  I miss you, dude.  I hope you peed in a river and thought of me.

nuDia.tv is on iTunes!

Posted by Colleen on Oct 6, 2009 in Announcement, Podcasting Adventures, nuDia.tv

Jay keeps making fun of me (sad smiley face) but I AM SO EXCITED!!!

nuDia.tv is#19 in the Video section for Comedy on iTunes!  We FINALLY got approved by the iTunes Store today, just in time for our Fall Launch.

itunes_nudia_comedy_video

Aaaannndd as of right now, #41 over both Audio and Video categories in Comedy!  Hooray!!!

itunes_nudia_comedy_all

I’m so excited and I don’t even have a show premiering on there until Friday, which is sure to be just as awkward and painful as you all remember :D  To subscribe to nuDia.tv on iTunes, you can search “Nudia,” “Nudia.tv” or “Jay and Jack” on iTunes OR you can just go here: http://bit.ly/3kMpyE.

Jay and I are seeing David Cross tomorrow night.  OH! And I have the video all converted, I just need to upload it - song videos from the Rob Thomas concert in Cary, NC last Monday night, September 28, 2009.  I’ve kinda slacked because I also have all the video from the No Doubt concert back on June 8, 2009 on my computer that I compressed to a smaller file but never uploaded because I suck.

The good news is that I actually did edit and upload a brand new show from me on nuDia.tv, which is a NuNews interview series.  The first one, which will premiere either Friday Oct 9 or Sunday Oct 11 (we haven’t decided yet), will be an interview with the awesome dudes who do the “John Locke Rap” on YouTube.  Stay tuned :)

Okay time for bed.  I have to be at work wicked early tomorrow.  And I need some new YuBlog.org submissions, so if you have anything, please email YuBlog.org@gmail.com otherwise it’ll be my take on David Letterman being a cheating pig (please someone else do that one lol) or my absolute JOY on the Sweet Valley High series becoming a major motion picture written by Diablo Cody.  So yeah.  You’re funeral.

P.S. Alice, you rock my socks yet again. Thank you :)

Comic Con 2009 Preview Night

Posted by Colleen on Jul 23, 2009 in Clif Armstrong, Comic Con, Friends, Good times, Jay Glatfelter, Lost, Video

So yesterday was Day 1 of San Diego Comic Con 2009 aka Preview Night.  Woot.  After Jay & I picked up our rental car (an oh-so-hot PT Cruiser), we made a much anticipated stop at In N Out Burger in Mission Valley.  There, we (me, Jay, Jana & Clif) met up with Ryan & Jen Ozawa from the Transmission podcast and Alirio “I Have Free Health Care in Canada” of PauseCast.

We got our badges at about 2pm and then sat around the Convention Center outside Ballroom 20 for 4 hours until the doors opened for the Exhibit Hall at 6pm.  I wanted to get a Benjamin Linus Bobble Head doll but by the time I got over there after my stop at the Diamond Toys booth to pick up Stay Puft Marshmellow Man limited edition banks for Jay, Derek, and Kim, the line was too long and I wanted to go up and see the previews for V (looks awesome) and The Vampire Diaries (craptastic-minus-the-tastic-until-Boone-gets-on-45-mins-into-it).  Afterwards, we hit up some local bar for food/drinks with friends like Chris in Boston & friends, Adam of the Randy Rando Randonopolis podcast, Desiree in Pensicola, Alirio and Michael the Friendly Communist.  Good times, good times.

Idiots Make a Guide to Surviving Comic Con 2009

Posted by Colleen on Jul 16, 2009 in Comic Con, Jay Glatfelter, Podcasting Adventures, Video

Sorry for the lack of the No Doubt video/playlist.  I promise that I will get it all out there.  For now, here’s what’s going down.  Since No Doubt, we’ve had Jay’s sister’s high school graduation, Sara’s bachelorette party, Jay’s family reunion in Ohio, 4th of July in New York, and then I went up to NY again last weekend.  It’s been somewhat busy/crazy.  I also promise to do a HUGE set of updates once things come down.  Now I’m busy scrapbooking the last year for my & Jay’s 2nd anniversary on July 29.

Oh yeah and WE’RE GOING TO COMIC CON IN 5 DAYS!!!  I. Am. So. Excited.

Jay, Jack & I filmed this amateur’s guide to Comic Con for www.nuDia.tv.  Check it out if you haven’t already.  I have to give props to Ralph & Ben, formerly of the Dharmalars podcast aka the godfathers of the Comic Con Survival Guide.  I’m going to be blogging updates from this blog (more personal pictures from Comic Con) and YuBlog.org (Nudia.tv’s community blog, which anyone can submit blogs to be published - this will have the more “professional” pictures, I guess), and of course, Nudia.tv will be updating content on the site at least once a day.  So if you’re a Comic Con enthusist and want to know what’s going on, then bookmark all 3 sites and check back daily.  I can’t promise that this blog will be updated every single day, but YuBlog.org & Nudia.tv will be updated daily.  Jay & Jack will also be doing some live stuff from ustream.tv at some time during Comic Con too.

Okay, enough yakking out of me.  I seriously have to go eat olives & scrapbook right now.  This is not a joke.  They are olives stuffed with garlic and jalapenos so GFY if you think eating olives is lame.  Thus said, here’s Comic Con Guide:

Jay’s 24th Birthday Weekend

Posted by Colleen on Apr 1, 2009 in Clif Armstrong, Good times, Jay Glatfelter, NC Adventures, Weekend, nuDia.tv

So this weekend was Jay’s Birthday Weekend.  He turned 24 on Friday, March 27.  Side note: Sunday the 29th was my sister Christie’s 20th birthday.  I don’t think she reads this but if she is, Happy Birthday!!!

Anyways, I after scouting out many local restaurants for us to try, I decided to just do the biggest deal of them all: attempt to cook dinner myself.  I’m a really impatient person when it comes to cooking, so I’ve never really tried to cook before other than my Valentines’ Day 2008 trip to NC to surprise Jay and cook pasta.  That doesn’t really count though because my mom helped me prepare most of it before I left & all I had to do was the pasta part, which even I can do.  So I decided to start small and I made us bacon cheeseburgers:

jay_birthday_dinner

Yeah, it may not look super fancy, but whatever; it tasted good if I do say so myself.  I even went all out and baked a funfetti cake, too.  Holler.

jay_bday_cake

Hell yeah the candles spell out “24″.  Cause I’m that creative.  Jay’s sister Heather came to hang out for a little while when we did birthday cake, which was fun.  Since it was pouring outside on Friday, we decided to go see the movie, “I Love You Man”.  My verdict?  I really liked it and I laughed at least every few minutes.  Maybe it wasn’t the best movie from that whole “Apatow Gang” but in all fairness, it’s going to be really hard to beat “40-Year-Old Virgin” and “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” (my personal favorites).

On Saturday, we went out to dinner with Jay’s family at an awesome Italian restaurant in Raleigh.  Afterwards, we went up to the mall because Jay wanted to buy new sunglasses with some of his birthday money.  I got carded upon entering the mall by myself (I went in to use the bathroom while Jay parked).  Turns out, if you’re under 18, you’re not allowed to be in the mall unaccompanied by an adult past 5pm.  No one asked Jay to see his ID.  Ha, and I’m the older one in the relationship.  After the new Oakleys were acquired, we hit Sam’s Club to buy “real Mexican” Coca Cola.  The night was finished out by an exciting viewing of “Mary Poppins,” which was choosen by the birthday boy.

Sunday we hit up the flea market because it was finally not raining.  In fact, it was gorgeous outside.  Two hotdogs each later, we went back home to do work - Jay on the “Lost Podcast” and me on my nuDia.tv show that I was going to re-film (the first time wasn’t very good, to be honest) while Jay & Jack recorded the podcast for Monday.  After a delicious dinner cooked by Jay’s mom, I headed over to Clif’s studio to film.  Jay & I took one car over to his parents’ house, so I waited around while Jay & Jack filmed their “Lost Vidcast” for this week (”Missing Jack”) and while Jack filmed his “Jack’s Rants” segment:

Aww, look at Clif hard at work!  Okay, it’s a day of the week that ends with “y” the job search continues in 5…4…3…2…1…

I Stayed Up for 25 Hours to Get P’wned By Jorge Garcia

Posted by Colleen on Mar 25, 2009 in Jay Glatfelter, Lost, Podcasting Adventures

After planning this from October 2008, Jay & Jack’s 25 Hour Marathon Podcast for Autism Speaks was finally this past weekend.  It was awesome.  We were aiming to raise $10,000 by April 20, but we managed to raise more than $12,000 for Autism Speaks by the end of the 25 hours!

Anyways, we had a lot of fellow podcasters and listeners come to Raleigh to hang out and get us through the entire 25 hours.  I really cannot wait for Comic Con 2009 or for next year’s event.  Here’s a picture from the end of the 25 hours.  We started at 5pm on Saturday and finished up at 6pm Sunday night.  Can you say exhausted?

group3

So at about 2pm on Sunday, when we were in the home stretch, Jorge Garcia (Hurley on Lost) came on and kicked ass for 3.5 hours.  Except for when I got totally p’wned:

D’oh! :P

Donations are still coming in, via check to PO Box 40082 Raleigh, NC 27629 (made out to Autism Speaks) or via PayPal, by sending money to the email address LPDonate@gmail.com (we’ll have PayPal send us a check for the final total and then we send that check, along with the other checks, to Autism Speaks).

Thank you to everyone who came in person (I’m sorry if I left anyone out) and everyone who tuned into the live feed, whether it was for 5 minutes, an hour, 12 hours, or all 25 hours. Thanks Jana for keeping the riff-raff out of the chat room. Thanks Chris, Rob, Chris the Bostonian Banhammer, Jessica, Alirio, Sue, Robin, Mandy, Tommy, Michael, Daniel & his wife, Mark & his girlfriend, Allison & her friend, Elizabeth & the man in the Dharmalars shirt whose name escapes me right now (I’m sorry!)
