I still have to finish up my post about Jay & my’s New Years Eve adventure but I’ve been blah all day when it comes to doing anything. Mainly because I spent like 3 hours yesterday cleaning out my closet and reorganizing things, so today I felt lazy. I’ll get to it within the next 3 days, I promise. It’s a fun story with some special guest stars so stay tuned.
Anyway, Chuck started again today on NBC and will air Monday nights at 8pm EST, so if you’re looking for a great TV show to get into, then check out Chuck. It’s a great show. The first few episodes of the first season are somewhat slow but if you stick around, you will not regret it.
Thus said, Jay & I resumed podcasting together tonight with ChuckCast, the podcast we started last year as a joke when Ben & Ralph started theirs. If you’d like to subscribe to ChuckCast, here’s the link to the iTunes store: http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=304193119.
Please keep in mind that it’s not a Jay & Jack podcast, so if you’re expecting to hear them, you will be disappointed. I know that I do not come close to being as great as Jack is but hopefully, Jay & I can keep you entertained. We like getting to do something together that has zero pressure or money involved! Well, that being said, I’m off to bed because I have a feeling it’s going to be a looooooong week…
Oohhh and Happy Birthday to Randy Princess Cupcake Assface Green, even though it’s after midnight so technically his birthday is over. I miss you, dude. I hope you peed in a river and thought of me.

Weekend
So thus far today, my packing has been this successful: I threw shit out from my desk (that I don’t even need to go through) and packed both my U.S. and British editions of Harry Potter and my Lord of the Rings books. Yeah, this is not good lol. I can’t really do anything outside of the house before 3:30pm each day because I’m on doggie nurse duty for Strider - 13 pills a day, including diuretics which means he has to be taken outside to go to the bathroom at least once every 1.5-2 hours. My dad does the pills but it’s a huge ordeal because some are so large that they have to be literally shoved down his throat. I feel badly because the dog will unintentionally bite down on his hand at least 4 times each session & this morning he drew blood.
My birthday parties were fun. I gotta admit that on Friday, I was just totally not feeling doing anything birthday-related. It took longer to pick Strider up from the doggie cardiologist than I thought it would and I missed the train into Manhattan, so I just drove in to Astoria and took the subway to Hi-Fi to meet up with the BTR crew. Annie made me FUNFETTI CUPCAKES, which I think I had 4 of. It was fun and nice to see everyone who could make it.
Also on Friday, I had a surprise. Jay couldn’t make it this weekend and knew how disappointed I was so he sent me beautiful flowers to make up for it :) Aren’t they purdy?

So, Saturday was the big party at Stout in Herald’s Square. I didn’t end up going to New York Comic Con because I was just drained from the previous 2 days and needed to try to chill before the all-nighter. Katelyn and her friends Kelly & Eddie came in with me at 7pm so we could get a lot of seats for everyone at the bar.
Everyone tricked in from around 7:30pm-10:30pm. I was so excited to see everyone and even more excited to accept multiple birthday drinks. In fact, at around 12:50am, Randy & Claudio got me a double shot of Tequlia and for some reason, I then thought that it would be a good idea for Katelyn & Eddie to take the last “early” train home at 1:12am without me and I’d just take one at like 3am and get a cab for the 25 minute ride back. Yeah, I don’t know either. Sooooo around 1:30am, I wanted to go home and was “stuck.” So what did I do? My grandparents were staying at the Marriott Downtown for a conference that night & I decided to go drunkely visit them. Then I slept over in their hotel room. Yeah. Don’t even say a word.
We did a family party yesterday but it was quieter. My mom’s been sick the last few days and we wanted to keep it low-key so the dog didn’t have a heart attack, but it was cool. Still lots of good food. My aunt & uncle told me that I should enjoy 25 because everything beyond is just “early 30.”
So yeah, that’s my birthday story. Also, I know that this could come across wrong, but I’m just sorta “woah” to have seen this:

In 2 years podcasting, I’ve never ever been on any iTunes featured list or top something. It’s in the Audio Podcast list of the TV/Film category. Jay & I started the ChuckCast as a joke but then decided we liked doing because it took a total of 1 hour a week with recording and editing (knock on wood) and seemed like fun we should keep having! :) I’m actually not going to look at any reviews because I remember the last time that I did something that was more in Jay’s “territory” and 75% of the people who commented hated me. I wasn’t trying to come off poorly but damnit that sucked hardcore and I’d rather just say “screw it” and be kept in the dark this time.
Anyways, I have a bunch of pictures from my birthday party, but I’m putting them after the jump because there are quite a few (I’ll put more up on Facebook when I feel like it). My camera’s crazy ass flash makes me look like I haven’t been out in sunlight in 3 years and I also look drunk basically from an hour in (I think it was more like 2.5 hours in though…). I’m also aware I’m in desperate need of a haircut & am getting on on Friday. Much thanks to everyone who came out and who left me messages on Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, message boards, etc.

Okay, so the gorgeous
Allison has requested I make a new blog post so that she doesn’t have to see my bloody finger anymore and I kinda think she’s right! So lucky for Ali and the rest of you tired of looking at my mangled claw, I’ve got an announcement:
I’m moving to Raleigh in the middle of February!
My last day of work is February 4 (a Wednesday) and my birthday is Sunday, February 8. I also found out as I got home tonight that Brian & Bobby got tickets to see “The Daily Show” on February 9, so I am going to go with them and then drive down to Raleigh that week and try to find a job, etc. I’ll couch hop with Jay and Sara & TJ and who knows maybe Clif’ll let me crash for a night. At least the slumber party will distract me from the absolute terror I have about finding a job haha. I told my bosses at work and although I was scared to do it, I was really more just sad in general. It’s a nice place to work and they’re really good bosses and I like the people I work with so it’s kinda like I’d be losing more friends.
But anyway.
I’m really excited and really scared. I’m excited because I think that it’ll be a great new chapter of my life but I’m scared about finding a new job. I accepted back in 2007 when I decided that if it came to it, I’d be the one to move that it would mostly mean giving up 90% chances of ever having a job in the fields that I have my degree in (Communications with focuses in Journalism & PR as well as a minor in English & Theatre). I worry too much and I think too much. And nothing is or will EVER be as beautiful as New York City and that’s a fact. BUT I like Raleigh and even though it’s clear that I will really want to end up back in NY someday, I cannot wait to start a new life there.
I’m just going to miss my friends. I’ll miss Cassidy (bitch moved back from North Carolina as I was moving there), Tricia, Julia, Amanda, Amanda, Ali, Ian, Brian, Claudio, Randy, Anthony, Joe & Steph, Eddie, Bobby, and everyone around here that I know I’m not mentioning (forgive me). I’ll miss the BTR crew, Annie & Jeff & Max & Maia and all of our mid-day margaritas. I’ll miss Yankee games with Angri & Sabella & Storey. I’ll miss my dog Strider. But most importantly I’ll miss my family: my parents, sisters, grandparents, aunt, uncle, cousin. Just as way excited as I am to move, I’m just as sad that I won’t get to see them whenever I want to anymore. I know that this post sounds somewhat shaky but I made this decision with both my heart and my head and I’m certain that it’s the right one.
It’s gonna be a big adjustment and I’m really gonna need a lot of support from all sorts of places.
Oh, and I’m gonna need a job if anyone’s hiring…
So I spent much of the week following the ‘
Divas Take Manhattan‘ adventure being mega-stressed over the whole “real job” hunt. That Wed., Jan. 10, Norton & I finally got our shit together to do the podcast.
Here’s the website. Click
here if you want to download us on iTunes. It’s fun. We’ve only put out 3 episodes so we’re still trying to find our groove. I’m having a good time doing it, so I hope that it really takes off.
That weekend, I ventured into dirrrty Jersey to celebrate the 23rd anniversary of the birth of Princess Cupcake Assface Randy. I had to wait until after the Colts game to get there because Princess is a little fanatical. But being that Randy’s the male version of me, I knew how I’d react if someone wanted to be entertained while I was trying to watch a Yankees playoff game so I understood. I was just praying that they won so that he wouldn’t be sulking like a pissy little emo girl all night. Then again, Princess Cupcake Assface’s in a constant state of pissy little emo girl, so maybe it wouldn’t have made a difference. Anyway, the Greens got an adorable new puppy, Michaela, who’s about the size of Strider’s head. SO adorable. She shit all over the house that night so that his dad had to walk around the house in a bathrobe at 2:30am cleaning up dog shit, but she was still fun.
We ended up going out to some bar in central Jersey - 507, I think? We went with a bunch of his friends - Laura, Scott, Mike & Bob and met up with Mike Rispoli from Marist. Bars close at 2am in NJ, which is strange since they close at 4am in NY. GOSH, they can’t pump their own gas, they can’t get their own identity & they have last call at 1:30am? Ohhh, New Jersey…
Yay! Birthdays! Bar! Beer! Exclaimation points to show enthusiasm!
Princess Cupcake Assface is half Wookie & it’s gross.

Weekend
So alumni weekend was fabulous. It was great to be back in Potown & see everyone; it was just what I needed.

Went up on Friday afternoon & met up with Pookie (Amanda) & Gar (Sarah) at Culinary for a little Apple Pie Bakery goodness. Then Gar & I walked around campus for a while. We stopped in the Student Center to say hi to MCCTA (well, I said hi while Gar made fun of me for being overly social, as usual ha). I just busted right into the Mainstage rehearsal & tried to say hi to everyone at the Musical rehearsal but Tom had banned all alumni from entering the theatre all weekend, so whatev. OH we saw Bob Lynch, who I basically accousted. Then he said the word ‘fuck’ when talking to us, which we were both shocked & STOKED about since I’ve never heard Bob curse before. It was another sign that the night would be great.
We went to meet Pookie & Eddie & co. at Noah’s, since they’d gone to Happy Hour. I hate Noah’s, but I put on a brave face. Saw some older MCCTA alum, which was awesome. I really do miss Laurie, Karla & all them - especially Laurie & Karla. They were like my idols, man. After about 20 minutes (thank God) Pookie & Gar & I decided to pay Rachel Cronin a visit at work. She feed us, which was lovely, and then took us back to her house, where we hung out with her & Will for a while. They’re getting married next Oct, which makes her the 3rd person I graduated with to get engaged, which isn’t as weird as I thought it’d be. I guess cause she & Will and Rob & Lizzie Poo have all been together forever it was like both couples are married already. Katie & Justen have only been together a year but they’re all about the passion & connection so I wasn’t surprised when they got engaged.

I do find it hysterical that both of my senior year roommates got engaged the same weekend. There’s definitely a self-deprecating joke/comment in there but I’m not going to make it.
Anyway, then Randy called & forced us to go to Hatter. Alice drove us. Randy told me I looked like a substitute teacher then tried to set me up with his fraternity brother. Geez, I guess I’m too hot for my own good or something.
After Hatter, they wanted to go to Noah’s again so we did (UGH) but Risa was having an alumni party so Topher & this kid Matt who’s the star of the musical came to pick me up. I wasn’t wasted but I wasn’t sober at all. I got to Risa’s & started screaming “MCCTAAAA!!!” as soon as I walked in the door, which I thought was rather annoying/fitting for me to do. I said all my hellos & then went back with Crissy & Heather to their house & proceeded to drink some Octoberfest & eat Crissy’s entire kitchen since I was in hungry drunk mode. I wanted to meet up with Pookie & Gar at Darby’s & got Heather, Crissy, Angrisani, Joey, Annie, Megan & Courtney to come with. Yeah, there were 8 of us fitting into a 5 person cab. It was rather hysterical. Actually I think Eddie came too? I can’t remember, but there may have been 9 of us.
After Darby’s, Gar & I talked to Steph Speranza who said that we could stay in her room at the Mariott, which was FABULOUS. So we did that, chilled for a while with her, watched “Pulp Fiction” at like 4am and went to bed.
Next day was filled with wandering around campus, the Palace, more visits & hellos, etc. I
went to dinner with Eddie & the divas-minus-Meagan at Double-O Grille, where Steph works. Five stars. Allison, Julia, Eddie, Amanda Giordano & I had rented a hotel room for Sat night so we went back there, pregamed & went out. I think the night was as follows: Foxhole for a bit then Amanda & I met up with Steph after she got off work while the others walked to Mahoneys; we waited in line there but got bored with it fast (the others were
inside). Steph saw Sarah Gordon, who was going back to Noah’s, so we hitched a ride with her & hung out at Noah’s for a little while. Sarah’s cool; she & Steph are hysterical together. Rachel & Will met us there & Steph, Amanda & I walked back to their house and chilled for a bit before going to Darby’s. It was a laaaaate night and Julia, Eddie, Amanda & I rode back in the sketchiest cab EVER (Eddie was stepping in vomit, it was LOVELY) and we all tried to crash.
Palace the next morning (ah, how I missed thee). Everyone split after, but I walked around Vanderbilt for a while before coming home, totally spent.
Ok, this post is ridiculously long and probably only interesting to me so I’m going to stop for now. I’m going out to have an adventure with Golio. More later.
<3>
There’s no way that it can’t get better than this. Because otherwise, no one would get past 25! We cannot be the only people who feel this way. Otherwise, we’ve got some other serious problem.” -Randy.
That made ME feel a little bit better the other night so I wrote it down as he said it hahahaha. He was trying to talk sense into me as I bitched & moaned & cried over how much I wish I was back at Marist & how I’m sorry that I was an asshole in general this summer. MOVING ON.
Ok bitches, here’s the deal: I’m house/dog sitting for my aunt in Mt. Sinai (8 miles from my house in Ridge) for the next 2 weeks - til Sept 14. I know Eddie’s coming out this Saturday to keep me company (9/2) & Princess Cupcake Assface Randy’s coming to par-tay it up LI-style next Saturday (9/9). If anyone wants to come and hang out with me at all for the next 2 weeks, definitely, definitely call me. It’s sort of lonely here with just the two dogs, not gonna lie, so if you wanna chill, this is my invitation. I’m working alot the next 2 weeks but whatev, it’ll be an improvement over the nothing that I basically did all summer (except get drunk like 4 nights a week & go to the beach like every other day).
P.S. I watched the first like 10 minutes of the V.M.A.’s and I have 3 comments - 1) Justin Timberlake is still fucking gorgeous & 2) WTF was J.Lo wearing? 3) Lil Kim is not intelligent. Then I turned them off after Lil Kim because they were already boring me. That’s all.
P.P.S. Yesterday was the first Wed between Sept-May that I was not at a board meeting at 11am in 2-and-a-half-years and it was really fucking weird. I don’t know if I like having my soul back anymore…<3
