An Open Letter to Craigslist Spammers

Posted by Colleen on Mar 30, 2009 in NC Adventures, Ramble/Ponder/Rant |

To Those Who Post Spam Listings on the Raleigh (or any city’s) Craigslist,

I hope you get caught & end up in prison where they sodomize you so badly that you realize that that’s exactly what you’re doing to those who optimistically apply for jobs day in and day out, as though it were our full time job.  I hope you someday experience the exact same level of aggravation and false hope that you cause upon innocent job seekers and society in general.

Thanks,

Colleen

Hey Colleen- Nice Xmas wishes for those Scammers. I’ve done an “Open Letter To CraigsList” suggesting they charge $1 for Help Wanted ads, which might do to these Scammers what you are suggesting.
Do a search on http://www.thisamericanlife.org for “Enforcers”. Forget “A Christmas Story” and “It’s A Wonderful Life”. This will truly make your holiday season bright. After a 5-minute intro, there’s a vignet called “Hanging In Chad”. The long & short of it: Three guys who go by the names Professor So and So, Jojobean and YeaWhatever spend part of each day running elaborate cons on Internet scammers. They consider themselves enforcers of justice, even after they send a man 1400 miles from home, to the least safe place they can bait him: the border of Darfur. The three self-made enforcers tell Ira Glass their story, but if you click the link to their blog, you can read about the horrors they put this poor idiot through.
